Summer 2014

I've pretty much given up on myself logging all the fresh veggies I harvest.  Most of the time, I'm in too much of a hurry to get to the computer.

Lettuces, strawberries, snap and snow peas are all done here.  The amount of spring produce we ate was probably worth about $15.

Harvested some nice garlic bulbs (3 large elephant garlics, a couple smaller).  Hopefully next year I will get more than 6 to grow.

Beets are almost ready (just a few plants).

Harvested 2 cucumbers, but something is killing the rest of the plants, need to investigate.

I'm waiting and waiting for the tomatoes to turn red.  Should be a TON of them.

Hot peppers are hanging in there.

There is potential for many, many butternut and spaghetti squashes, and if the sad little zucchini and yellow squash plants that I bought to rescue ever take off, then I will have bunches of them, too.

Broccoli and brussels sprouts (I think that's what the one plant is...) are being attacked by worms.  I have since blasted them with a hose and picked off bunches and killed them.

I have Roma bean plants that are finally growing some beans.

My herb garden is filled with basil, cilantro, parsley, thyme, stevia, and dill.

Though it is small, I'm still pretty proud of it.  It's not run over by weeds yet!

I enjoy growing things.  This year I want to try and quantify what I grow, to see if the garden is worth more than just fun to me!  Pictures to come soon.

Spring 2013

May - harvested: 1 gallon bag of baby greens, romaine lettuce, summer crisp lettuce.
                            2 handfuls of radishes
                            1 large bunch of Swiss chard, bright red stems
                            1 handful of strawberries (sweet, but the bugs got them first)

May - planted: cucumbers, watermelon, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, herbs, siberian irises, daffodils, monkey grass, chocolate mint (artemisia & lamb's ear - but they dried out and died...oops)

April - planted: onions, herbs, marigolds, cucumbers

March - planted: snap peas, snow peas, lettuce, broccoli, baby bok choi, radishes, swiss chard, carrots
                           7 garlics have grown from the fall planting

February - started indoors: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, herbs, shasta daisies, marigolds

Fall 2012

Harvested baby greens and romaine lettuce.

Lettuce lasted until December in our climate.
Planted 12 cloves of 2 varieties of garlic - elephant garlic and something else (?? can't remember)
Planted day lilies, fire lilies, tulips and other early spring blooming bulbs

Summer 2012

Harvested: Tomatoes, peppers, basil, garlic, sunflower seeds, lettuce.
